LAST SAMURAI (THE) - Lot 157
LAST SAMURAI (THE) (2003) - THE LAST SAMURAI (2003) Original Springfield 1861 dummy rifle used in the film by Japanese soldiers This rifle is a "stunt" version. For secondary characters, the weapons used on film are usually made of resin or rubber. These are known as "light versions" or "stunt versions". This avoids the need for actors to handle heavy, more costly objects, with which they could injure themselves. Shooting flashes are often added in post-production. These rifles were American weapons supplied to the Japanese. Dimensions: 152 cm long. Fairly good overall condition. Only the hammer is missing. Wear consistent with age and use (see photos). ____________________ Original Springfield 1861 Stunt Rifle Used in the Film by Japanese Soldiers This rifle is a "stunt" version.
