Bust of the Virgin and Child in carved, polychromed and gilded wood, flat back. Crowned and clothed in a mantle with embossed motifs, the Virgin carries the Child on her left arm, making a gesture of tenderness as she wraps her right hand around her Mother's neck. Southern Germany, first half of the 16th century Base Height 56.7; W 33.5 cm (some polychromy, restorations notably to the crown and nose)
